The new Building A Presence State Coordinator...

Kathleen French has been the Education Facilitator at the University of Nebraska State Museum for the past eight years. Her responsibilities have evolved from developing and presenting museum based programs for school children and visitors to becoming the professional development trainer for the Wonderwise Women in Science Kit Series. She presents workshops for both the formal and informal educator audiences at the national and regional levels. She has just completed facilitating statewide training workshops for each of Nebraska's ten 4-H partner states on the Wonderwise grant over the last three years. . Ms. French received training at the Exploratorium’s Institute for Inquiry in San Francisco, California and continues to promote inquiry teaching in other workshop settings for educators and university pre-service teachers.

Kathy is an educator with a background both in formal and informal educational experiences. She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in education, earned from the University of Nebraska. She has taught in the Lincoln Public Schools, initiated the formation of the education department at the Folsom Children’s Zoo in Lincoln and was also a naturalist at the Pioneers Park Nature Center.

There are so many opportunities out there for teachers and students.
She is looking forward to linking the formal science education audience with the informal science audience all across this great state of Nebraska!
